Don't Quit Your Day Dream

We all know the quote "Don't Quit Your Day Dream" is changed from the quote "Don't Quit Your Day Job".  An example of this would be when two people are talking and one makes a joke.  The other person doesn't laugh and says, "Don't Quit Your Day Job."  Though in this instance there would not really be a conflict because you could work during the day and then at night to do comedy acts at the clubs.  Another example would be if someone shows his friend an art item he is going to sell.  The friend says, "Don't Quit Your Day Job."  Lots of times a friend or a loved one could say not to quit your job.  They are trying to say your dream won't work out because in the first instance your joke isn't funny.  In the second example your art items weren't sellable.  They don't want you to be rejected or not be able to pay your bills.  They are trying to protect you from getting hurt.  What this all means is that you need to work on your craft if you want to quit your day job some day.  Also one persons opinion does not mean others would not be more open to what you have to offer.

Employees at work normally have a lunch break.  No company has a sign on the wall that says no day dreaming.  Though it isn't appropriate to be daydreaming while you are working.  Setting aside time for daydreaming during a lunch break or before or after work is usually not on anybody's to do list.  "Don't Quit Your Day Dream" really gets you thinking.  It is saying to keep dreaming.  This is really a neat quote.  It's the dreamers that have the chance of making them come true.  The ones that have quit on their dreams won't go any further in that area.  It's okay to quit at something if you aren't interested in doing that thing.  To quit at something you are interested in is to give up because it is challenging.  You can pull strength and use the quote, "Don't Quit Your Day Dream as a reminder of continuing to go for your dream.  Thank you for this witty line that has such value.
